The crossing of the Central Andes Mountain Range is carried out every year from December to March. In order to accomplish this, two Andean ranges are crossed: the Frontal Range through Portillo Argentino Pass, at 4.345 meters above sea level, and the Principal Range through Los Piuquenes Pass, at 4,100 meters above sea level.
You go along the same historic path that General San Martín followed in 1823 when he came back from the liberator campaign.
The activities last between four and six days. It is possible to do the crossing walking or horse-riding, using shelters and tents to spend the nights. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience a great connection with nature, simple life and people.
You will be able to enjoy incredible landscapes which are hard to find when doing other activities.
