Kayaking

Adventure Tourism in Mendoza

Kayaking is the navigation activity which uses a personal boat (kayak) to go down on white waters in mountain rivers. It requires keeping the kayak in balance, avoiding rocks and maneuvering in hollows formed by the river in rocks.

River kayaking is a sport which, unlike rafting, requires experience in relation to the river that you will navigate.

In Mendoza, it is possible to practice kayaking in the Atuel River in San Rafael, in the Tunuyán River in Uco Valley, in the Grande River in Malargüe and, of course, in the star river of Mendocineans, the Mendoza River.

If you want to learn this fascinating sport, you must take a course with responsible and experimented instructors. They will teach you the basic techniques of paddling and maneuverability, as well as security measures. It is important to know the techniques to handle the kayak properly, and to be accompanied by instructors all the way down when you go kayaking the first times.

Cross Kayaking

The different water mirrors of the province make possible the practice of cross kayaking. Unlike the river kayak, the one used in water mirrors is longer and you generally navigate on quiet waters, which allow you to enjoy beautiful landscapes as well as the tranquility of nature.

In the province of Mendoza, you can practice this sport in amazing places of the south such as Los Reyunos, El Nihuil and Valle Grande among others. Closer to Mendoza City, Potrerillos Dam offers its beauty just 60 kilometers away.
