Only 37 kilometers away from the city of San Rafael, Valle Grande is one of the favorite touristic destinations for those who want to have a rest in a wonderful place as well as for those who love adventure tourism.
The journey there starts going through a beautiful sinuous way which is protected by a mountain chain and which borders the powerful Atuel River.
Along this way, you can find a wide range of accommodation options (hotels, cottages, camping sites, etc), restaurants, and a lot of adventure tourism companies which offer varied activities such as rafting, kayaking, doky (double inflatable kayak), trekking, rappelling, horse riding, boating, paragliding, and motorized 4-wheeler activities, among others.
If you continue along this way, you will get to Embalse Valle Grande (Valle Grande Dam), a beautiful emerald green water mirror. It is an excellent place to practice windsurfing, cross kayaking, sport fishing, catamaran riding, etc. You can also take advantage of the neighboring canyons for trekking or horse-riding.
When coming down from Embalse Valle Grande, there are 6 kilometers of river where to enjoy the adrenaline of extreme sports. Valle Grande, with its long and impetuous river, is one of the favorite places for those who love practicing white-water rafting, doky and hydro-speed.
Valle Grande is the entrance door to the Atuel Canyon, which continues being bordered by the Atuel River, offering a wonderful geological show.
